Wood Burning Reading Room
Inefficient wood stoves and improper burning can result in a lot of smoke coming into your neighbourhood. The Province of British Columbia estimates that approximately 120,000 non-EPA certified woodstoves are still in use in the province. Even those with efficient, certified woodstoves may not be burning as cleanly as they could. There are programs and workshops available to address issues surrounding wood burning for domestic use and home heating. The most well-known is called Burn-It-Smart and is operated by the Federal government.
