Vehicle Anti-Idling

The Sea-to-Sky AQCC is currently working to harmonize anti-idling bylaws and idling recommendations throughout the region. Presently there are several municipalities that have an anti-idling bylaw which can result in a fine if you leave your vehicle idling for more than 3 minutes (except while in traffic – see bylaw for other exceptions). Pages containing model bylaws and sample polices regarding anti-idling are listed below. Municipalities that currently have anti-idling bylaws in place are found in the right side bar.
